Casper-Natrona County International Airport

KCPR sits at 5,349 feet MSL, which affects aircraft performance calculations for departures, particularly in summer. The main runway (09/27) runs 10,000 feet, which comfortably accommodates large-cabin and ultra-long-range jets. No slot requirements or congestion issues here.

Casper draws private aviation traffic from two distinct passenger types: energy industry travelers (Wyoming's oil and gas basin sits directly east and southeast of the city) and recreational travelers using Casper as a staging point for hunting, fishing, and access to the Wyoming backcountry. The airport is a practical alternative to Jackson Hole (KJAC) for passengers whose final destination is central or eastern Wyoming.

Downtown Casper is 5 miles east of the airport, roughly 10 minutes by car. Rental cars are available at the terminal. For passengers heading to hunting ranches or private land in Natrona, Converse, or Carbon counties, a vehicle is essentially required as there is no meaningful car service infrastructure outside the city.

Jackson Hole is approximately 190 miles southwest (2.5 to 3 hours drive). Yellowstone's south entrance is about 245 miles north, roughly 3.5 hours. Both are reachable by road but the distances make KCPR a poor substitute for KJAC or KWYS if those airports are the true destination.
