Berenice International Airport shares its facilities with Banas Cape Air Base, a Egyptian military installation on the Red Sea coast. The airport sits roughly 120 kilometers south of Marsa Alam, in one of Egypt's most remote coastal stretches. The airport is not a commercial hub. Expect a small, utilitarian facility with basic FBO services rather than the full suite available at larger Egyptian airports like Marsa Alam (RMF) or Hurghada (HRG). Passengers with flexibility should consider whether those airports better suit their trip, as they offer more ground handling options and easier onward connections.

Berenice city is adjacent to the airport, but the wider Red Sea coast and the nearest urban centers require a long drive. Marsa Alam is approximately 120 kilometers north, around a 1.5 to 2 hour drive along the coastal highway. Hurghada is roughly 450 kilometers north, a 5 to 6 hour drive. Pre-arranged car service from local operators is the practical option; international car hire brands are not established in the immediate area.
