Reno-Tahoe International Airport (KRNO) is 30–40 miles east by road and handles heavy jets and wide-body aircraft that neither Tahoe airport can accommodate. The trade-off is a 50–90-minute ground transfer depending on traffic and road conditions. For large-cabin jets or groups arriving from major East Coast markets, KRNO removes the altitude performance constraint and offers more consistent ramp availability.
