About Airport Aviation Services (AAS)
Airport Aviation Services (AAS) has been operating at Luis Munoz Marin International Airport since 1972, making it one of the longest-tenured FBO operators in Puerto Rico. The company serves both commercial airlines and corporate aviation, and it is one of the few Caribbean FBOs with U.S. Department of Homeland Security Customs and Border Patrol inspection officers stationed on duty 24/7 at the facility.
This round-the-clock CBP presence is a significant advantage for international arrivals, eliminating the need to schedule customs appointments or worry about after-hours arrival restrictions. The FBO provides fuel and line services, a comfortable passenger and pilot lounge, and luxury concierge and duty-free shopping facilities that were recently upgraded to state-of-the-art standards.
A distinctive feature of AAS is its association with Sky Caterers, the only food service company at the airport locally authorized and certified by both the FDA and USDA to provide meals to aircraft. This means departing flights can be provisioned with quality catering that meets federal food safety standards, a detail that matters for longer charter flights heading to other Caribbean destinations or returning to the U.S. mainland.
Luis Munoz Marin International is the busiest airport in the Caribbean, and AAS's half-century of operating in this environment means the team is well versed in managing the logistics of a high-traffic airport. Their ability to serve both commercial and private aviation gives them resources and staffing depth that smaller standalone FBOs may not match. Ground transportation, hotel bookings, and onward travel coordination are handled through the concierge desk. The airport's 10,002-foot main runway accommodates aircraft of all sizes without restriction.

The Isla Verde hotel strip is 5 to 10 minutes from the terminal by car. Condado, the main upscale residential and hotel district, is about 7 miles west, typically 20 minutes without traffic. Old San Juan is 9 miles west, 25 to 35 minutes depending on congestion on Route 26. Dorado, home to luxury resort properties including the Ritz-Carlton Reserve, is 30 miles west, roughly 45 to 60 minutes by car. Ride-share services operate at the airport. Pre-arranged car service is common for charter passengers and is the more reliable option during busy arrivals. Helicopter transfers to other parts of the island are available through operators at nearby Isla Grande Airport (TJIG), which sits on the San Juan waterfront about 6 miles west.
