About Skyplace FBO
Skyplace FBO sits at 1770 Skyplace Boulevard on the north side of San Antonio International Airport. A $1.2 million renovation completed in early 2024 delivered a new 4,000 square foot terminal building that replaced the prior passenger space. Two 30,000 square foot hangars total 60,000 square feet of enclosed ramp coverage and handle aircraft from single-engine turboprops through tall-tail large-cabin jets. Fuel service runs 24 hours. Concierge services and gourmet catering coordination operate out of the renovated terminal.
The new covered entrance reduces exposure during San Antonio's summers, when ramp surface temperatures regularly exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit and the walk from aircraft to building matters more than it does in cooler climates. Inside, ground support, maintenance, and avionics work routes through affiliated service providers on the field.
A practical advantage for international arrivals is Skyplace's proximity to a U.S. Customs and Border Protection Federal Inspection Station adjacent to the facility. That adjacency cuts the customs clearance sequence on inbound international flights, avoiding the passenger busing to a remote CBP facility that some FBO configurations require. San Antonio sees consistent cross-border charter traffic from Mexico, with Monterrey roughly three hours by road to the south and less than an hour by business jet.
Highway access runs via three converging routes: U.S. 281, Loop 410, and Wurzbach Parkway all intersect within a few minutes of the ramp. Downtown San Antonio sits roughly 12 minutes south, and the River Walk hotel corridor is reachable without navigating freeway merges. For groups staging through San Antonio for convention center events or multi-aircraft corporate arrivals needing overnight storage, Skyplace's 60,000 square feet of hangar space and CBP access cover the mission.
