About Hawthorne Global Aviation Services
Hawthorne Global Aviation Services operates the sole FBO at Cobb County International Airport-McCollum Field, located 21 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta in Kennesaw, Georgia. The facility features over 500,000 square feet of hangar space capable of accommodating aircraft up to the Gulfstream G650, along with a 6,000-square-foot passenger terminal with first-class amenities. Pilot lounges, conference facilities, computer flight planning, and weather services are available. The FBO is a full-service Shell Aviation fueling station and provides after-hours fuel and emergency services for unplanned arrivals. Regular operating hours run Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM and weekends from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with after-hours service by request. In 2015, McCollum Field became the first Atlanta metro-area general aviation airport to offer on-site U.S. Customs service with full staffing, a distinction that opened the field to international private aviation traffic. For charter passengers, McCollum Field serves as an alternative to the busier DeKalb-Peachtree Airport and the congested airspace at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International. The airport's 6,306-foot runway handles most midsize jets, and the northwestern suburban location provides direct access to Marietta, the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park area, and the growing commercial districts along I-75 north of the city. The Town Center at Cobb and surrounding retail and corporate parks are minutes from the airport. Downtown Atlanta is reachable in 30 to 45 minutes depending on traffic, which in Atlanta can be a significant variable. For passengers whose business takes them to the northwest suburbs or who want to avoid the operational complexity of Hartsfield-Jackson, Hawthorne's operation at McCollum Field provides professional service with customs capability in a less congested environment.
