About Southwest Aviation

Southwest Aviation is the second FBO at Las Cruces International Airport, located at 9050 Zia Boulevard alongside Francis Aviation on the field. The operation is smaller and more focused, providing fuel services and hangar space for general aviation traffic in southern New Mexico.

The facility offers 100LL and Jet-A fuel as a Phillips 66 dealer, with Jet-A pre-mixed with fuel system icing inhibitor included at no extra charge. WiFi and weather information are available in the terminal. Ground transportation can be arranged, and the first night's parking fee is waived with a fuel purchase.

Southwest Aviation also offers flight instruction for passengers or family members interested in learning to fly while visiting the area. While this is primarily a pilot-focused service, it reflects the facility's role as a working general aviation operation rather than a large corporate terminal.

Las Cruces International sits at 4,456 feet elevation with a 7,749-foot main runway, adequate for most business jets with appropriate planning for the high desert conditions. The airport is about 9 miles west of the city center and roughly 45 miles north of El Paso, Texas.

The Mesilla Valley surrounding Las Cruces produces some of the best green chile in New Mexico, and the area's culinary identity is strongly tied to this crop. New Mexico State University anchors the local economy, and the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument east of town offers striking desert hiking. White Sands National Park, with its gypsum dune fields, is about 50 miles northeast.

For charter passengers whose primary need is fuel and a smooth arrival, Southwest Aviation provides a straightforward, no-frills option. The pricing tends to be competitive, and the lower traffic volume at Las Cruces means quick turns and minimal delays on the ground.
