About Francis Aviation
Francis Aviation is the larger of two FBOs at Las Cruces International Airport, operating from a facility at 8990 Zia Boulevard on the field's south side. The company underwent a complete transformation under new ownership and management, modernizing the terminal and upgrading its service offerings to better serve the southern New Mexico market.
The terminal includes a passenger lounge, restrooms, and a pilot lounge with weather information and Wi-Fi. Ground transportation is well covered with rental cars, courtesy cars, and limousine service available. The staff can coordinate catering, hotel arrangements, and local logistics for arriving passengers.
Francis Aviation also operates from a second location in nearby Santa Teresa, giving them coverage across the southern New Mexico corridor. Both locations are positioned along the U.S.-Mexico border region, about 45 miles north of El Paso, Texas. For charter passengers, Las Cruces offers a quieter and less expensive alternative to El Paso International for reaching destinations in the Mesilla Valley.
The airport has a 7,749-foot runway at an elevation of 4,456 feet, handling most business jet types without issues. The high desert climate means density altitude is a factor during summer months, but the generous runway length provides adequate margins.
Las Cruces is a college town of about 110,000 people, home to New Mexico State University. The Organ Mountains serve as a dramatic backdrop to the east, and White Sands National Park is about an hour's drive northeast. The Mesilla Plaza historic district, with its adobe architecture and local restaurants, is a popular stop for visitors.
Francis Aviation provides full-service Jet-A and 100LL fueling as a Phillips 66 dealer, along with hangar space and charter services. For passengers arriving in southern New Mexico, it is a well-run facility in an uncrowded environment.
