About Berry Aviation
Berry Aviation has operated as a Part 135 charter company and full-service FBO at San Marcos Regional Airport since 1993, providing about 36,000 square feet of hangar space for based and transient aircraft. The airport holds a unique designation as the only FAA reliever for both Austin-Bergstrom International and San Antonio International, positioned roughly equidistant between the two cities along the I-35 corridor. This central location puts passengers about 30 minutes south of downtown Austin, 20 minutes from Circuit of the Americas (COTA), and 45 minutes north of downtown San Antonio. Berry provides Jet A with additive, Avgas 100LL, and self-serve 100LL at competitive prices with no landing or ramp fees, which is a notable cost advantage over the larger airports in the region. The FBO operates seven days a week from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and offers concierge services including trip planning assistance, ground transportation arrangements, hotel reservations, and catering coordination. Berry also holds a Part 145 maintenance certificate, so aircraft service work can be handled on-site. San Marcos itself is a growing city of about 70,000, home to Texas State University and the spring-fed San Marcos River, popular for tubing and kayaking. For charter passengers attending Formula 1, MotoGP, or major concerts at COTA, San Marcos Regional offers a far less congested alternative to Austin-Bergstrom with its heavy commercial traffic. The Texas Hill Country wine region and the outlets at San Marcos are also nearby draws.
