About Gary Jet Center
Gary Jet Center opened a new Corporate Flight Center at Gary/Chicago International Airport that raised the standard for FBO facilities in the southern Chicago market. The 8,300-square-foot glass-walled building features a lobby with seating for over 45 people, an espresso bar, and unobstructed views of the recently expanded 9,000-foot runway. The terminal includes three crew lounges, a crew kitchen with laundry facilities, private phone and sleep rooms, and a conference room available to both passengers and crew. The building was designed by Ghafari Associates and Chicago interior firm Partners by Design, and it is LEED certified for environmental sustainability. On the airside, the west campus includes two 40,000-square-foot hangars and over five acres of ramp to accommodate even the largest business aircraft. Gary Jet Center promotes the airport as an alternative to Chicago's congested airspace, with the tagline of offering Chicago's best approach. U.S. Customs is available for international arrivals. The airport is about 25 miles southeast of the Loop, reachable via I-90 and the Chicago Skyway. The facility handles corporate charters, sports team aircraft, and VIP travel with the kind of infrastructure that rivals FBOs at much larger airports. For passengers, the experience from wheels-down to car door is typically faster here than at Midway or any of the suburban reliever fields, thanks to shorter taxi distances and a less crowded ramp. Gary Jet Center has positioned itself as a serious contender in the Chicagoland private aviation market, and the new terminal backs up that ambition.

Operations at Gary Chicago International Airport
Downtown Chicago (The Loop) is about 30 miles northwest, typically a 40 to 55 minute drive depending on I-90/94 and the Chicago Skyway. Indiana Dunes National Park is roughly 15 miles to the east along the Lake Michigan shoreline. The South Shore Line commuter rail runs from Gary's downtown station into Chicago's Millennium Station, though the station is several miles from the airport, making car service the practical choice for most passengers. Car service and rideshare options serve the airport, and operators at Gary Jet Center can coordinate ground transportation on request.
