About Signature Flight Support EYW
Signature Flight Support EYW operates the sole FBO at Key West International Airport, recently unveiling a new facility that more than doubles the size of its previous location. The upgraded terminal provides a significantly improved experience for charter passengers arriving at the southernmost point of the continental United States.
The facility is located at 3471 South Roosevelt Boulevard and offers customs services for international travelers, which is particularly relevant given Key West's proximity to Cuba and the Bahamas. Signature's concierge team assists with hotel bookings, restaurant reservations, and activity coordination across the island. Ground transportation is straightforward in Key West, where the entire island is only about four miles long and two miles wide.
Key West International has a single 4,801-foot runway, which limits operations to light and midsize business jets and turboprops. Larger-cabin aircraft typically use the Naval Air Station at Boca Chica or divert to Marathon or Fort Lauderdale. Pilots should be aware of the runway length and plan accordingly, but for appropriately sized aircraft, the airport puts you just minutes from Duval Street, Mallory Square, and the island's waterfront resorts.
Key West draws charter traffic year-round, with peak season running from December through April. The island is a destination for sport fishing, sailing, diving at the only living coral reef in the continental U.S., and the literary and artistic heritage associated with Ernest Hemingway and Tennessee Williams. The annual Fantasy Fest in October and various fishing tournaments generate additional spikes in private aviation arrivals.
For charter passengers, Signature EYW provides the only FBO option on the island, and the new expanded facility brings the passenger experience in line with the premium resort destination that Key West has become.
Amenities and services
Operations at Key West International Airport
Downtown Key West and Duval Street are 3 to 4 miles from the terminal, a 10 to 15 minute drive depending on traffic. Taxis and rideshare (Uber and Lyft operate on the island) are available at the airport. Several car rental agencies have counters on site. The island is small enough that most destinations, including the southernmost point, Mallory Square, and the Historic District, are within 15 minutes of the airport. There is no practical ground connection to the mainland; the Overseas Highway (US-1) to Miami runs 160 miles and takes roughly 3.5 to 4 hours, so most passengers arriving by private jet stay on the island or depart by air.
