About Heritage Aviation
Heritage Aviation is Burlington's only full-service, employee-owned FBO, operating from a 79,000-square-foot LEED Gold-certified facility that was one of the first green-certified aviation hangars in the nation when it opened in December 2009. The building incorporates wind and solar energy, a green roof that is one of the largest in New England, and rainwater harvesting systems. For charter passengers, the sustainability features translate into a modern, comfortable terminal with excellent climate control and natural light. The facility operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and includes amenities that go well beyond what most regional FBOs offer: a workout facility, a private theater, conference rooms, and full crew rest areas. On-site U.S. Customs makes Burlington International a viable port of entry for flights from Canada, which is just 45 miles north. Heritage Aviation is also an FAA-certified repair station with over 30 years of maintenance and avionics experience, providing on-field technical support. In 2025, Heritage partnered with Avfuel to bring sustainable aviation fuel to KBTV, making it one of the first airports in the region to offer SAF. Burlington sits on the shores of Lake Champlain with views of the Adirondack Mountains to the west and the Green Mountains to the east. The city draws visitors for its outstanding food scene, craft breweries, and easy access to Stowe, Sugarbush, and other Vermont ski resorts. Ground transportation to the slopes takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on the resort.
