MidAmerica Airport FBO

MidAmerica Airport FBO is the airport-operated general aviation facility at Scott AFB/MidAmerica St. Louis Airport, a joint civil-military field located 18 miles east of downtown St. Louis in the Metro East region of Illinois. The airport shares its infrastructure with Scott Air Force Base, home to U.S. Transportation Command, which means the field maintains two long runways: Runway 14L/32R at 10,000 feet and Runway 14R/32L at 8,006 feet, both with ILS approaches. For charter passengers, this translates to an airport capable of handling any business aircraft type in virtually any weather condition. The FBO provides fueling, ramp handling, and passenger services for corporate and charter operations. The facility serves as a quieter, less congested alternative to Lambert-St. Louis International on the west side of the metro area. Charter passengers headed to the Metro East communities of Belleville, O'Fallon, and Collinsville, or to Scott Air Force Base itself, save significant ground travel time compared to flying into Lambert. The airport covers 7,003 acres, and the general aviation ramp is well separated from the military operations area. Allegiant Air provides limited scheduled commercial service, but charter traffic has its own dedicated space. Boeing Defense, Space & Security maintains a facility on the airport property for military aircraft sub-assemblies. Ground transportation to downtown St. Louis takes about 25 minutes via Interstate 64. The FBO provides a no-frills but functional arrival point for passengers who value runway capability, airspace flexibility, and proximity to the Illinois side of the St. Louis metro.
