About Appleton Flight Center

Appleton Flight Center operates from a terminal that holds the distinction of being the nation's first airport terminal to achieve a net-zero energy designation. Built in 2013, the 5,000-square-foot, two-story LEED-certified building features a roof-mounted 26-kilowatt solar array, a ground-source heat pump, in-floor radiant heating, rainwater collection, and zero-VOC finishes throughout. The building saves roughly 80 percent of the energy a conventional terminal would consume. For charter passengers arriving in Wisconsin's Fox Valley, the eco-friendly design translates into a comfortable, modern space that stays warm in winter and cool in summer. The FBO provides U.S. Customs clearance for international arrivals, making it a viable port of entry for flights from Canada. The ramp spans over 18 acres of concrete, with ample room for large-cabin jets. Self-serve fuel is available 24 hours a day, and full-service fueling covers both Jet A and 100LL. Appleton International sits in the heart of the Fox Cities, a metro area of about 400,000 people that includes the headquarters of several major corporations and is home to Lawrence University and Lambeau Field in nearby Green Bay. The airport is about 30 minutes from Green Bay and serves as a practical alternative to Austin Straubel for business travelers in the region. Ground transportation and rental cars are easily arranged through the FBO. The terminal's sustainable design has won multiple awards, but for passengers, the real benefit is a well-maintained, modern arrival experience in a mid-sized market.
