About Machjet International
Machjet International operates a 24-hour FBO at Cairns International Airport with full Code C aircraft handling capability, supporting private jets, medevac flights, military operations, and remote area charters across Far North Queensland, Papua New Guinea, Torres Strait, and the South Pacific. The facility fills a niche that larger global FBO chains have not fully addressed: high-availability ground support in a region where the distances are vast and the operating environment is demanding.
The air-conditioned facility includes a VIP lounge, boardroom, pilot rooms for crew rest, and dedicated ground handling equipment. Coordinated customs, immigration, and quarantine services streamline international arrivals, particularly for flights routing from PNG and the Pacific Islands. Machjet also operates its own charter fleet of fixed-wing aircraft and provides 24-hour aeromedical services for patient transfers throughout the region, which means the team is accustomed to urgent, around-the-clock operations rather than just scheduled business aviation.
For charter passengers, Machjet's FBO serves as the staging point for some of Australia's most remote and rewarding destinations. The Great Barrier Reef is accessible by helicopter or boat from Cairns, and the Daintree Rainforest begins just north of the city. Beyond these well-known attractions, Machjet's regional expertise extends to coordinating flights to Cape York, Thursday Island, and remote fishing and diving lodges that are only accessible by air.
Cairns sits in the wet tropics, and weather can change quickly, with monsoonal rain, tropical cyclones during summer months, and localized storms that require experienced operational judgment. Machjet's deep knowledge of Far North Queensland weather patterns and airspace adds real value for operators unfamiliar with the region.
