About Aero Services (Alaska Aero Services)
Aero Services, operating as Alaska Aero Services and owned by Atlantic Aviation, has been the full-service FBO at Juneau International Airport for over 20 years. The facility sits on the general aviation side of the airport, serving private jets, corporate aircraft, and charter flights arriving in Alaska's capital city.
The operation provides a full line of aviation products and services. Fueling covers Jet A, 100LL, and 80/87 avgas, and the line crew handles ramp operations, cargo, and baggage. Cold weather capabilities include deicing, which is essential given Juneau's maritime climate where precipitation falls on approximately 230 days per year. Overnight hangar storage protects aircraft from the elements, and the FBO also stocks pilot supplies and NOAA charts for crews planning onward flights through Southeast Alaska.
For passengers, Aero Services provides a courtesy shuttle and coordinates local transportation, including hotel arrangements and rental cars. The team can also arrange U.S. Customs services for flights arriving from or departing to Canada, which is relevant given Juneau's proximity to British Columbia and the popularity of cross-border flying in the region.
Juneau is only accessible by air or water, as no roads connect the city to the rest of Alaska or Canada. This makes the airport the lifeline of the community and a critical hub for visitors. Private jet passengers arriving in Juneau are typically headed for whale watching in Auk Bay, helicopter tours of the Mendenhall Glacier, fishing charters, or connections to wilderness lodges throughout the Tongass National Forest. The airport's 8,857-foot primary runway accommodates large aircraft, though approaches through the Gastineau Channel require attention to terrain and weather.

Operations at Juneau International Airport
Downtown Juneau is 9 miles from the airport via Egan Drive, a straight run along the waterfront that takes about 15 to 20 minutes without traffic. The cruise ship docks at the downtown terminal are roughly the same distance. Car rentals are available at the airport. Taxis and rideshare serve the route, though availability can be limited outside business hours. There is no road access to or from the broader Alaska road network. If your destination is Glacier Bay National Park, Gustavus Airport (PAGS, 48 miles northwest) is the closer option.
