About Gustavus Dray Inc.
Gustavus Dray Inc. is the sole fuel provider and FBO at Gustavus Airport, the tiny gateway to Glacier Bay National Park in Southeast Alaska. The community of Gustavus has a year-round population of roughly 450 people, but it attracts thousands of independent travelers each summer who come for the park's tidewater glaciers, humpback whale watching, and bear viewing that rank among the finest wilderness experiences in North America.
The FBO operates as an Avfuel provider offering 24/7 Jet A fueling with both single-point and overwing capability, plus or minus Prist anti-icing additive. No 100LL avgas is available. There are no landing fees or tie-down charges, which is a welcome contrast to busier airports. Ramp escort and aircraft lavatory service round out the ground support options.
Passenger amenities are minimal by lower-48 standards, reflecting the remote character of the location. There is no lounge, no Wi-Fi, and no concierge desk. Passengers arriving by private jet should plan for ground transportation in advance, as the airport has no rental car counters or taxi stands. Local lodges typically provide airport pickup, and the FBO staff can help coordinate transfers if arranged ahead of time.
The airport's single runway measures 6,701 feet of asphalt, sufficient for light and midsize jets. Approaches can be affected by coastal weather, including low ceilings and fog that roll in quickly from Icy Strait. For charter passengers, Gustavus offers something rare: a direct flight into one of America's most spectacular national parks without the crowds, since most Glacier Bay visitors arrive by cruise ship and never come ashore.

Operations at Gustavus Airport
The town of Gustavus is roughly 2 miles from the airport by road. Most lodges and the Glacier Bay Lodge (inside the park at Bartlett Cove, 10 miles away) offer shuttle pickup with advance notice. Rental cars are available through a small local outfit but inventory is very limited, especially in summer. There is no rideshare service. If you're heading directly into the park, arrange transfers through your lodge or the park concessionaire before arrival.
