About Eccelsa Aviation
Eccelsa Aviation has been operating since 1963, making it one of the longest-established private aviation service providers in Italy. As one of only four dedicated FBOs in the country, the facility at Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport serves as the primary gateway to Sardinia's most exclusive resort area.
The dedicated FBO building is designed for speed: just 21 steps separate your car from the aircraft stairs, one of the shortest transit paths of any FBO in Europe. The terminal entrance is within a 10-minute drive from downtown Olbia, and the Costa Smeralda's famous beaches, Porto Cervo marina, and luxury hotels are all within 30 minutes.
Inside the terminal, Eccelsa has created something unusual for an FBO: 4,000 square meters of retail space featuring luxury brands including Swiss jewelry by de Grisogono, Provasi furniture, high-end footwear, and designer sunglasses. This retail component reflects the clientele profile at Costa Smeralda, where summer visitors routinely arrive by private jet and superyacht.
Eccelsa handles comprehensive ground services including fueling, aircraft parking, maintenance coordination, hangar storage, customs and immigration, and fire and rescue support on the apron. The concierge team arranges limousine transfers, helicopter taxi to remote parts of the island, hotel bookings, yacht charters, and catering for departing flights.
Operating hours run from 7:00 to 22:00 local time, seven days a week, year-round. Summer is by far the busiest period, when Sardinia's Costa Smeralda draws a concentrated wave of private jet traffic from across Europe and the Middle East. For charter passengers, Eccelsa delivers a luxury arrival experience that matches the destination, with efficient handling and a terminal that feels more like a high-end boutique than an airport building.
