About General Aviation Service

General Aviation Service has been operating in Spain's private aviation market since 1979 and runs a network of seven FBOs across the country, with Malaga-Costa del Sol serving as the gateway to southern Spain's most popular resort region. The facility sits adjacent to the runway with its own terminal dedicated exclusively to private jet passengers.

The Malaga FBO underwent a significant investment beginning in 2025, with 200,000 euros spent on new handling equipment including aircraft steps, baggage belts, restroom facilities, and potable water equipment. Brand-new VIP facilities have been designed to elevate the passenger experience, reflecting the upscale expectations of clientele traveling to Marbella, Puerto Banus, and the wider Costa del Sol.

Passengers arriving by charter are met at the aircraft and escorted to private lounges within the terminal, where customs and immigration are processed without the queues of the main commercial terminal. The concierge team coordinates ground transportation, and the drive to central Marbella takes about 45 minutes, with closer beach towns like Torremolinos and Fuengirola reachable in 15 to 20 minutes.

General Aviation Service handles all standard ground operations including fueling, parking, aircraft cleaning, catering, and crew support. Their presence at seven Spanish airports, including Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Granada, Gerona, and Palma de Mallorca, gives them a strong operational advantage for flight departments routing through multiple Spanish cities.

Malaga airport operates 24 hours a day with a single runway measuring 3,200 meters, capable of handling all business jet types. Private aviation traffic peaks during the summer season and around major golf events, when the Costa del Sol's courses attract international visitors.

Málaga city center is 8 km from the airport, around 15 minutes by car outside of peak hours. Marbella is 55 km west along the A-7 coastal motorway, typically 45 to 50 minutes in normal traffic but often 75 minutes or more during summer afternoons. Puerto Banús sits another 5 km beyond Marbella. Estepona is about 80 km, Ronda roughly 100 km via the A-397 mountain road. Private car services and taxis are available curbside. Helicopter transfers to Marbella and other Costa del Sol destinations can be arranged through local operators for passengers who want to avoid coastal road congestion entirely.
