About Atlantic Aviation
Atlantic Aviation operates an FBO at Aurora State Airport, a popular general aviation field located about 15 miles south of Portland in the Willamette Valley. The facility provides fuel services, hangar space for corporate aircraft, and an executive lounge, serving as a quieter alternative to Portland International for private aviation passengers whose destinations lie south of the city center.
Aurora State sits in Marion County amid farmland and vineyards, with the historic town of Aurora known for its antique shops and small-town charm. The airport shares the field with two other FBO operators, Aurora Aviation and Willamette Aviation, giving pilots and operators a choice. Atlantic's brand recognition and network connectivity appeal to operators who use Atlantic facilities across the country.
The airport's single runway, 17/35, is 5,004 feet, which limits operations to light jets, turboprops, and piston aircraft. Midsize and larger jets cannot operate here and should plan for Portland International (KPDX) or Hillsboro Airport (KHIO) instead. For passengers arriving by light jet or turboprop, Aurora offers the advantage of no commercial airline traffic and quick taxi times.
The Willamette Valley wine region is the primary leisure draw, with hundreds of wineries producing world-class Pinot Noir within a 30-minute drive. The Willamette Valley stretches south from Portland to Eugene, and Aurora's position at the northern end of the valley makes it an ideal landing point for wine country weekends. Salem, the state capital, is 30 miles south. For passengers willing to fly in smaller aircraft, Atlantic Aviation at Aurora provides efficient access to one of America's premier wine regions without the congestion of Portland's busier airports.
