The Telluride Regional Airport Authority operates the sole FBO at the highest commercial airport in North America, sitting at 9,078 feet above sea level on a mesa top six miles from downtown Telluride. The airport-run facility provides daily service from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a strict noise curfew from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. that prohibits all jet operations during those hours.

Weather-related diversions to Montrose (35 miles north) are common, and many insurance policies and aircraft management companies impose specific pilot qualification requirements for Telluride operations.
