About Signature Flight Support
Signature Flight Support operates an FBO at New York Stewart International Airport in New Windsor, approximately 60 miles north of Manhattan in the southern Hudson Valley. The facility commenced operations in 2016 at the former Airborne Aviation FBO location, and the company has announced plans to construct a new 40,000-square-foot hangar and approximately 6,000-square-foot terminal building adjacent to the existing structure.
The current terminal provides ground handling, fueling, and standard Signature passenger amenities. On-site U.S. Customs and Border Protection is available for international arrivals, and after-hours service can be arranged with two to four hours of advance notice. Concierge staff coordinate ground transportation, rental cars, and hotel bookings throughout the Hudson Valley.
Stewart International's appeal for private aviation passengers lies in its position as a less congested alternative to the New York City-area airports. While Teterboro, Westchester, and the Long Island fields handle the bulk of metro-area private jet traffic, Stewart offers uncrowded airspace, no slot requirements, and a 11,817-foot primary runway that can accommodate any aircraft type without restriction. For passengers whose destinations are in the Hudson Valley, the Catskills, or the mid-Hudson business corridor, Stewart eliminates the need to fight through metro-area ATC congestion.
West Point is 15 minutes south, the Woodbury Common Premium Outlets are nearby, and the growing farm-to-table restaurant and craft beverage scene in the Hudson Valley draws weekend visitors from Manhattan. Signature competes at Stewart with Atlantic Aviation, giving passengers a choice between two established FBO networks.
Amenities and services
Operations at New York Stewart International Airport
Midtown Manhattan is roughly 60 to 65 miles south via I-87, typically 90 minutes by car in normal conditions. Add 30 to 45 minutes during peak weekday hours. Car services routinely make the run and most FBO staff can arrange meet-and-greet pickup. West Point Military Academy is about 15 miles south. Woodbury Common Premium Outlets is 20 minutes. The Catskills are 45 minutes to the northwest. Stewart is not served by helicopter shuttle services to Manhattan on any regular basis, so ground transfer is the standard option.
