About Sheltair
Sheltair's Sarasota FBO is a brand-new $40 million complex that opened in late 2025 in the northeast quadrant of Sarasota Bradenton International Airport. The facility spans 24 acres accessible from Tallevast Road and includes a 10,705-square-foot terminal, 46,000 square feet of aircraft storage, and 9,000 square feet of office and lounge space. An airside canopy is designed to cover passengers during arrivals and departures, accommodating corporate aircraft of all sizes.
Inside the terminal, fully equipped crew lounges, snooze rooms, dedicated flight planning and weather areas, private passenger and VIP lounges, complimentary refreshments and Wi-Fi, and 24-hour office access create a complete ground experience. An EV charging station reflects Sheltair's sustainability priorities. Construction is also underway on an adjacent general aviation Federal Inspection Station scheduled to open in spring 2026, which will enable efficient customs processing for international private arrivals directly at SRQ.
Sarasota's Gulf Coast location generates strong year-round private aviation demand. The city's cultural institutions, including The Ringling museum complex, Sarasota Opera, and the Asolo Repertory Theatre, attract a culturally engaged visitor base. Siesta Key Beach, consistently ranked among America's best beaches, is about 20 minutes from the airport. Longboat Key and Anna Maria Island extend the coastal options to the north.
The airport's primary runway, 14/32, is 9,500 feet and handles all business jet categories. Sheltair's investment in a ground-up facility at SRQ signals confidence in the Gulf Coast market, and future plans include additional hangars and a 60,000-square-foot maintenance, repair, and overhaul facility. For passengers heading to Sarasota, this is now one of Florida's newest and most modern FBO complexes.
