About Cutter Aviation

Cutter Aviation at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport holds the distinction of being America's oldest continuously family-owned FBO, founded in 1928 by William P. Cutter. Now in its fourth generation of family ownership, the company has grown from one man's passion for flight into the Southwest's leading aviation services provider. The facility offers ample ramp and hangar space, 24-hour access, and fueling with Phillips 66 aviation products. For charter passengers, Cutter provides a full-service arrival and departure experience at one of the busiest airports in the desert Southwest. The FBO handles ground handling, baggage service, and crew support, while crew cars and rental car coordination cover ground transportation needs. The staff can assist with hotel reservations and directions to local attractions. Cutter also operates a full maintenance facility and avionics shop at Sky Harbor, along with an on-demand charter service, which means passengers occasionally see a wide variety of aircraft and activity on the ramp. Phoenix Sky Harbor's location just three miles east of downtown Phoenix gives passengers quick access to the city center, Scottsdale's resort district, and the Valley of the Sun's sprawling metropolitan area. The airport's runways, stretching to 11,489 feet, handle any business jet type. Sky Harbor is one of the few major commercial airports in the country where private aviation operations remain efficient despite heavy airline traffic, thanks to well-designed ramp areas and ATC procedures that keep general aviation moving. Cutter competes with Jackson Jet Center on the same field, and its appeal lies in the family-owned heritage, competitive fuel pricing, and a team that has been serving Phoenix's aviation community for nearly a century.

Downtown Phoenix is a 10-minute drive from the FBOs. Scottsdale, the most common destination for private aviation passengers arriving at Sky Harbor, is 20 to 25 miles northeast, roughly 25 to 35 minutes depending on traffic on the 202 or surface streets. Paradise Valley is about 20 miles northeast. Tempe and ASU are immediately adjacent, under 10 minutes. Phoenix is a driving city. Car services and black car operators are plentiful and typically meet passengers at the FBO. Uber and Lyft operate throughout the metro. Rental car options are available on-airport. The Valley Metro Rail light rail line has a Sky Harbor stop, but it connects to downtown Phoenix and Tempe rather than Scottsdale, and is rarely used by private aviation passengers.
