About Coos Aviation

Coos Aviation is the primary FBO at Southwest Oregon Regional Airport in North Bend, the only airport with scheduled passenger service on the Oregon Coast. For charter passengers, the facility's main draw is its role as the gateway to Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, the world-class links destination located just 35 minutes south on Highway 101. The FBO handles a steady flow of corporate jets carrying golf groups, particularly during the peak season from May through October, when the courses at Bandon Dunes, Pacific Dunes, Old Macdonald, Sheep Ranch, and Bandon Trails are in high demand. The terminal at 2348 Colorado Avenue features a reception area, an executive lounge, a fully equipped meeting room for business needs, and shower facilities. Coos Aviation coordinates ground transportation, hotel reservations, and catering requests. The airport operates from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily, with after-hours service available by request. The 5,318-foot primary runway accommodates most light and midsize business jets, though larger aircraft should verify performance requirements. The Oregon Coast location means weather can be a factor, with marine fog and low ceilings common in the morning hours, particularly during summer. Instrument approaches are available, and conditions typically improve by midday. Beyond Bandon Dunes, the surrounding area offers the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, Shore Acres State Park, and Cape Arago. Coos Bay and North Bend provide basic services, dining, and lodging for passengers not staying at the resort. For golf travelers and visitors to the southern Oregon Coast, Coos Aviation provides essential FBO services in a location where alternatives are extremely limited. The nearest comparable airports are Eugene, about 100 miles north, and Medford, 130 miles southeast.
