About Avports Moffett Field

Avports Moffett Field operates under unique circumstances as the FBO at a former Naval Air Station now controlled by Google subsidiary Planetary Ventures. Located in Mountain View at the heart of Silicon Valley, the facility sits minutes from the headquarters of Google, Meta, Apple, and dozens of other major technology companies. However, this is not a typical FBO experience, and charter passengers should understand the restrictions before booking. Access requires prior permission, and the FBO operates Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM only, with no weekend or evening service. Arrangements must be made by calling the FBO before 5:00 PM on the preceding business day. A maximum of 15 passengers per flight is enforced. Entry onto the former military base requires government-issued identification, and as of 2025, Real ID compliant identification, a U.S. passport, passport card, or Department of Defense ID is required to reach the terminal. The airport is restricted to jet-fuel aircraft, meaning turboprops and piston planes are generally not accommodated. The facility provides basic FBO services including fueling and ground handling, but the amenities are limited compared to nearby alternatives like Signature at San Jose or Atlantic at San Carlos. The primary draw is pure convenience for passengers whose final destination is in Mountain View, Sunnyvale, or Palo Alto, where Moffett's central Silicon Valley location can save 30 to 45 minutes of drive time compared to San Jose or Oakland. The 9,202-foot runway handles all business jet types. For passengers willing to work within the scheduling constraints, Moffett offers the shortest possible ground transfer to many of the Bay Area's most important corporate campuses.

The Mountain View Caltrain station, about 2 miles away, provides direct rail to San Francisco in roughly 60 minutes.
