About Jackson Hole Flight Services

Jackson Hole Flight Services is the sole FBO at the only commercial airport located entirely within a U.S. national park, Grand Teton National Park. The airport sits at 6,451 feet elevation with a single 6,300-foot runway backed by the Teton Range, creating one of the most dramatic approach environments in American aviation. Prior permission is required for overnight parking, and pilots are requested not to land or takeoff between 9:30 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. local time, reflecting the environmental use agreement with the National Park Service. The FBO operates under strict environmental stewardship guidelines that come with the park setting. Services include Jet A fueling, ground handling, and a partnership with GoRentals to have vehicles ready planeside upon arrival. Taxis, executive car services, and shuttle transportation to the town of Jackson and the ski resorts are available through the FBO. Catering at the airport is limited to approved vendors only. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, with its 4,139 feet of vertical drop and expert terrain, is about 20 minutes north. Grand Teton National Park begins at the airport boundary, and Yellowstone's south entrance is roughly an hour's drive. Summer brings hikers, fly fishermen, and visitors to the region's dude ranches and luxury resorts. The town of Jackson, about 10 minutes south, has evolved into a high-end destination with galleries, restaurants, and a vibrant cultural scene anchored by the National Museum of Wildlife Art. Density altitude during summer months requires careful planning for departures, and winter operations involve snow and ice management. For charter passengers, the airport delivers an arrival unlike any other in the country.

Jackson's town square is 8 miles south of the airport, roughly 15 minutes by car. Teton Village and the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort base area are about 20 miles southwest, a 30 to 35 minute drive depending on traffic and road conditions. During ski season, Highway 22 and the Teton Village Road can add 10 to 15 minutes in heavy traffic. Most FBOs and charter operators can arrange car service or SUV transfers on request. Multiple car rental companies operate at the terminal. In winter, four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive is standard for the mountain roads. Helicopter transfers to backcountry lodges and remote ranch properties are available through local operators, though airspace and permit requirements within the national park apply.
