About Avflight Durango
Avflight Durango is the FBO at Durango-La Plata County Airport, serving as the primary private aviation gateway to southwest Colorado's Four Corners region. The facility is located at 1340 Airport Road and provides full ground handling for business and leisure travelers heading to some of the most scenic destinations in the American West.
The FBO offers Jet-A and avgas fueling, hangar space, and aircraft maintenance. The terminal provides standard passenger amenities including free Wi-Fi, lounge seating, and ground transportation coordination. Rental cars are available at the airport, which is essential given the distances to the region's major attractions. The facility operates from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily.
Durango-La Plata County Airport sits at 6,685 feet elevation with a 9,201-foot runway, providing ample length for most business jets even with density altitude considerations during summer months. The airport handles a mix of commercial and general aviation traffic, with scheduled airline service supplementing the private aviation operations.
For charter passengers, the draw here is the extraordinary surrounding landscape. Mesa Verde National Park, with its ancient cliff dwellings, is about 36 miles west. Purgatory Resort offers skiing in winter. The San Juan Mountains provide some of Colorado's most dramatic peaks, and the Animas River runs right through historic downtown Durango, which is about 15 miles from the airport. The Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, a heritage steam train, is one of the region's most popular attractions.
Avflight Durango provides reliable FBO services at a mountain airport that serves as the starting point for some of Colorado's most memorable outdoor experiences.
