About BID Air
BID Air provides FBO services at Cranbrook Canadian Rockies International Airport, the gateway to southeastern British Columbia's mountain communities. The facility offers Jet A fuel service and handles the basic ground support needs for private and charter aircraft visiting the region. Cranbrook is a Canada Border Services Agency airport of entry, capable of processing general aviation aircraft with up to 15 passengers for international arrivals, which is useful for flights coming from US ski destinations like Whitefish, Montana or other Pacific Northwest locations. The airport has a runway of approximately 6,000 feet, suitable for most business jet types. Access to the general aviation area for passengers and pilots is via a gate adjacent to the Flight Service Station building rather than through the main commercial terminal, so arriving passengers should be aware of this routing. BID Air is located at 9426 Airport Access Road. For charter passengers, Cranbrook serves as the closest jet-capable airport to several major Canadian Rocky Mountain destinations, including Fernie (about 1 hour east), Kimberley (about 30 minutes north), and Invermere and Panorama Mountain Resort (about 2 hours north). The airport is operated by Elevate Airports Inc. The facility is more operationally focused than luxury-oriented, providing the essential services of fuel, parking, and ramp handling. Ground transport should be pre-arranged, as the airport is about 10 minutes from downtown Cranbrook and rental car or shuttle options may need advance booking, especially during ski season.
