About Signature Flight Support

Signature Flight Support is the sole FBO at McGhee Tyson Airport in Knoxville, Tennessee, operating the facility that was formerly TAC Air until Signature acquired the TAC Air division from Truman Arnold Companies in 2022. The rebranding brought the location into Signature's national network while preserving the established FBO operation that had served Knoxville for years.

The facility offers a boardroom for business meetings, limousine service, catering coordination, and hangar space for transient and based aircraft. Standard Signature ground handling covers fueling, baggage service, and aircraft parking. The FBO continues to expand its hangar capacity and service offerings as Knoxville's private aviation market grows.

Knoxville anchors the western approach to the Great Smoky Mountains, the most visited national park in the United States with over 12 million annual visitors. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are about 30 miles southeast, and the Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge draws significant seasonal traffic. The University of Tennessee's Knoxville campus generates game-day private aviation surges during SEC football season, with Neyland Stadium's 100,000-plus capacity creating demand that can fill the ramp.

Beyond tourism and athletics, Knoxville serves as the gateway to Oak Ridge National Laboratory, one of the Department of Energy's largest research facilities, and a growing technology corridor along the I-40 and I-75 interchange. The airport's primary runway, 5R/23L, stretches 9,005 feet and handles all business jet categories. As the only FBO option at TYS, Signature has a captive market, but the transition from the well-regarded TAC Air operation has maintained service continuity for the region's private aviation community.
