About Atlantic Aviation
Atlantic Aviation is the sole FBO and fuel provider at Friedman Memorial Airport in Hailey, Idaho, the gateway to Sun Valley and Ketchum's world-class ski terrain. The terminal features mountain lodge aesthetics with plush leather sofas, a selection of beverages and refreshments, and a conference room for private meetings. The intimate scale of the facility matches the character of the resort community it serves.
Services include fueling, hangar space, ground handling, crew and rental cars, lodging reservations, 24-hour surveillance and security, and notary services. The parking facility is located directly outside the terminal entrance at a daily rate of $12, and electric vehicle charging stations are available. Winter hours end at 8:00 p.m., reflecting the shorter daylight and the airport's operational patterns during ski season.
Sun Valley Lodge and the Bald Mountain ski area in Ketchum are about 11 miles north, a 15 to 20-minute drive through the Wood River Valley. The area draws a high-profile crowd during ski season, and the airport handles heavy traffic during holiday weeks and the annual Allen & Company Sun Valley Conference each July, which brings technology and media executives from around the world.
Friedman Memorial's single runway, 13/31, is 7,550 feet at an elevation of 5,318 feet, surrounded by mountainous terrain that creates challenging approach conditions, particularly during winter weather. Passengers should be aware that weather-related diversions to Twin Falls or Boise are not uncommon. A proposed replacement airport at a site south of Hailey has been discussed for years to address terrain and noise concerns. For now, Atlantic Aviation at Friedman Memorial remains the only option for passengers flying privately to Sun Valley.

Ketchum is 12 miles north of the airport, a 20-to-25-minute drive on Highway 75. The Sun Valley resort village is roughly 14 miles from the terminal. Car service and SUV transfers are the standard option, with several operators based in the valley. No scheduled shuttle service runs to the airport. In winter, allow extra time for the drive if there's snow on the road, which is common.
