About Bayland Aviation
Bayland Aviation has operated as the fixed-base operator at Salisbury-Ocean City Wicomico Regional Airport since 1972, serving Maryland's Eastern Shore and the broader Delmarva Peninsula. The airport is the second-largest in Maryland by traffic volume and functions as the most convenient private aviation access point for Ocean City beach visitors, Assateague Island, and the agricultural communities that define this part of the mid-Atlantic.
The FBO provides Jet A and 100LL fueling, tie-down services, and GPU availability. Inside, there is a flight planning room equipped with computers, internet access, and weather resources. A pilot lounge offers a comfortable place to wait between flights. Bayland extends a courtesy car for trips within Salisbury city limits for up to two hours, and rental cars can be arranged through the FBO for longer ground transportation needs.
Summer operating hours run from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., May through September, with after-hours service available by arrangement. During the off-season, hours adjust accordingly. The airport's primary runway, 14/32, is 6,400 feet and handles light and midsize jet traffic without difficulty.
Salisbury itself is a regional hub for healthcare, education (Salisbury University), and poultry industry operations, generating steady weekday business aviation traffic. But the seasonal surge comes from leisure travelers heading to Ocean City, about 30 miles east, and the quiet barrier island beaches of Assateague. For passengers looking to skip the congested Bay Bridge drive from Washington or Baltimore, flying into Salisbury and driving 30 minutes to the coast saves hours of travel time during peak summer weekends.

Assateague Island National Seashore is approximately 30 miles southeast. Car rentals are available at the airport.
