About McCall Aviation

McCall Aviation has been the sole FBO at McCall Municipal Airport since 1976, serving as the gateway to one of Idaho's most prized mountain destinations. The facility sits one mile south of downtown McCall, a resort town on the shores of Payette Lake surrounded by the Payette National Forest. For charter passengers arriving in the Idaho backcountry, the experience starts with a warm, personal welcome from staff who know the area inside and out. The terminal includes a guest lobby with complimentary locally roasted coffee, free popcorn, bottled water, and WiFi. A private pilot lounge with rest areas is available for crews, while passengers can relax in the comfortable waiting area before heading into town. McCall Aviation operates the only on-site car rental service in McCall, which is a significant convenience given the town's remote location. For those without a rental reservation, the FBO provides shuttle service to restaurants, hotels, and local businesses. The Pancake House restaurant sits within walking distance of the terminal for a quick bite before or after a flight. Ground services include heated hangars, deicing, lavatory service, and both short and long-term vehicle parking with indoor and outdoor options. The airport's 6,108-foot runway at 5,024 feet elevation handles most light and midsize jets comfortably. McCall itself draws visitors year-round for skiing at Brundage Mountain, boating on Payette Lake, fishing, hiking, and access to some of the most remote wilderness areas in the Lower 48. The small-town FBO experience here is a welcome contrast to the larger corporate facilities, with genuine hospitality that matches the mountain setting.

Operations at McCall Municipal Airport

The airport sits about one mile from McCall's lakefront downtown, and the town is small enough that many destinations are reachable in under five minutes by car. Car rentals are available through local agencies, and rideshare coverage is limited in this rural area, so arranging a car in advance is recommended. Boise is roughly 100 miles south via Highway 55, a mountain road that takes about 1 hour 45 minutes in normal conditions and longer in winter weather.
