About Shoals Flight Center
Shoals Flight Center is the FBO at Northwest Alabama Regional Airport, serving the Muscle Shoals area from a facility at 1729 T. Ed Campbell Drive. The operation runs from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and provides the personal service and southern hospitality that define small-airport experiences in this part of the country.
The terminal offers free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, convenient free parking, and comfortable passenger seating. The staff arranges rental cars, which are available on site, as well as local hotel accommodations and catering for departing flights. The approach is hands-on and accommodating, consistent with a community-focused operation.
The airport has a 6,694-foot runway at 551 feet elevation, handling light and midsize business jets comfortably. The field is about a mile east of Muscle Shoals in Colbert County, with the city of Florence across the Tennessee River to the north. Together, the four cities of Florence, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, and Muscle Shoals form the Shoals region.
The Shoals area carries an outsized cultural legacy. FAME Recording Studios and Muscle Shoals Sound Studio produced hit records for Aretha Franklin, the Rolling Stones, Etta James, Wilson Pickett, and dozens of other artists during the 1960s and 70s. The documentary "Muscle Shoals" brought renewed attention to this history, and both studios are open for tours. The Alabama Music Hall of Fame is in Tuscumbia, and the birthplace of W.C. Handy, the father of the blues, is in Florence.
The Tennessee River and the surrounding Wheeler and Wilson reservoirs provide excellent bass fishing and water recreation. The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail has a course at nearby Decatur.
For charter passengers visiting this culturally rich corner of northwest Alabama, Shoals Flight Center provides a friendly, efficient arrival with the kind of personal attention that larger airports rarely match.

Operations at Northwest Alabama Regional Airport
Florence is about 8 miles from the terminal, roughly 12 to 15 minutes by car. Muscle Shoals, Sheffield, and Tuscumbia are all within 5 to 10 miles. Car rental is available at the airport. Dedicated black car and car service options are limited compared to larger markets, so arranging transportation in advance through the FBO or a regional provider is the better approach. For passengers heading elsewhere in the region: Huntsville is about 80 miles east (roughly 1 hour 20 minutes). Nashville is approximately 120 miles north, about 2 hours. Birmingham is around 100 miles south, just under 2 hours.
