About Mather Jet Center

Mather Jet Center opened in 2025 as Sacramento's newest FBO and the first alternative fuel provider at Mather Airport, breaking Modern Aviation's previous monopoly on the field. The operation was founded by veteran aviation professionals Victor Cushing, Matt Bosco, and Dan Kimmel, with Cushing also owning Mather Aviation, a Part 145 maintenance and avionics provider that has been based at the airport for years.

The FBO occupies 2,000 square feet of terminal space within the Mather Aviation maintenance building, a 100,000-square-foot hangar originally built to house B-52 bombers during the field's days as an Air Force base. The scale of the hangar space is remarkable and provides ample room for aircraft parking and service.

As an Avfuel-branded FBO, Mather Jet Center offers competitive Jet-A pricing and contract fuel options through the Avfuel network. The full-service lineup includes quick turns, aircraft detailing, and direct access to on-site maintenance and avionics support through the co-located Mather Aviation shop. This maintenance access is a significant advantage for operators needing AOG support or minor repairs during a stop.

The airport's primary runway at 11,301 feet handles any aircraft in the business aviation fleet. The field is about 15 miles east of downtown Sacramento, with convenient access to the state capitol, Folsom Lake, and the Sierra Nevada foothills.

Mather Jet Center emphasizes speed and personal attention, positioning itself as the operator-friendly alternative for crews who value quick turnarounds and straightforward pricing. The founding team's deep aviation experience shows in the operation's focus on what matters to working flight departments.

For charter passengers, the opening of Mather Jet Center means a choice at an airport that previously had none. Competition drives better service and pricing, and the connection to Mather Aviation's maintenance capabilities adds a layer of operational depth that benefits everyone on the field.
