About Waypoint Aviation
Waypoint Aviation is a locally owned, independent FBO at Cincinnati's Lunken Field, located at 500 Wilmer Avenue about 3 miles east of downtown. The facility opened in 2018 and has quickly built a reputation for personal service and local character that differentiates it from the chain FBO operations at larger airports.
The two-story terminal spans 2,500 square feet and includes a refreshment area stocked with complimentary Starbucks coffee and Graeter's ice cream, the beloved Cincinnati-made brand served fresh every day. This small touch has become a signature of the Waypoint experience and something passengers genuinely remember. The lounge offers comfortable seating, Wi-Fi, and views of the ramp.
Waypoint currently operates 40,000 square feet of hangar space capable of accommodating aircraft up to a Bombardier Global 7500, with three acres of ramp parking. A new 30,000-square-foot hangar is under construction and expected to open in late 2026, which will substantially expand their capacity for transient and based aircraft.
The FBO is open 24/7 and has an on-site MRO partner, Airtech LLC, providing maintenance services without requiring a ferry flight to another facility. Ground transportation, rental cars, and concierge services are available.
Lunken Field is one of the more convenient airports for reaching downtown Cincinnati, the Banks entertainment district along the Ohio River, Great American Ball Park, and the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. The airport operates 24 hours with no curfew or noise restrictions.
Waypoint competes on the field with Signature Flight Support, and the two operations offer charter passengers a genuine choice. Waypoint's local ownership, personal attention, and that daily supply of Graeter's give it a distinctive identity that regular visitors have come to appreciate.

Operations at Cincinnati Municipal Airport Lunken Field
Downtown Cincinnati is approximately 7 miles west of the airport, a 15 to 20 minute drive under normal conditions. The route runs along the Ohio River corridor via Columbia Parkway. Car service and rideshare are available, though pre-arranging a car service is more reliable given the airport's residential setting. Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International (CVG) is about 18 miles to the southwest if a connecting commercial flight is part of the trip.
