About University Air Center

University Air Center is the sole full-service FBO at Gainesville Regional Airport, located three miles northeast of downtown and roughly ten minutes from the University of Florida campus. The facility serves as the gateway for visiting families, alumni, donors, and business travelers connected to one of the largest public universities in the country. UAC handles the full range of ground services: Jet A and Avgas fueling, hangar accommodations, tie-downs, and concierge assistance with hotels, rental cars, and ground transportation. The FBO includes a pilot lounge with television, snack machines, and Wi-Fi. Beyond basic FBO operations, University Air Center runs a Part 135 charter service, a Part 141 flight school, and an FAA-certified repair station with Cessna and Cirrus maintenance authorizations and Garmin avionics work. The airport sees a noticeable spike in traffic on UF Gator football weekends, when private aircraft fill the ramp for games at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Gainesville Regional has a 7,503-foot primary runway that can handle midsize and super-midsize jets comfortably. The city itself has a college-town character with a strong restaurant and cultural scene, and it sits about two hours north of Orlando and 90 minutes southwest of Jacksonville. University Air Center has been on the field for decades and reflects the local, relationship-driven approach common at single-FBO airports. The staff knows the area well and can point you toward the best routes to campus or to the natural springs that draw visitors to north-central Florida.
