About Colorado Flight Center

Colorado Flight Center operates within the West Star Aviation campus at Grand Junction Regional Airport, western Colorado's largest commercial and general aviation hub. The airport sits at 4,858 feet elevation in the Grand Valley, surrounded by the Colorado National Monument's red rock canyon country and the Grand Mesa, the world's largest flat-top mountain. West Star Aviation serves as the sole FBO on the field, providing Jet A and Avgas fueling, short-term tie-downs, and oxygen service with no ramp or landing fees. Colorado Flight Center itself has been part of the Grand Junction aviation community for over 26 years, offering scenic aerial tours of the surrounding landscape, aircraft rentals, and a pilot shop. The airport is the fifth-busiest in Colorado by operations and has a 10,501-foot primary runway that can accommodate large business jets without restriction. For charter passengers, Grand Junction is the access point to Colorado wine country along the Palisade corridor, world-class mountain biking on the Lunch Loops trail system, and ski areas like Powderhorn. The drive to Aspen is about two hours via I-70, making GJT an alternative gateway when Aspen's mountain airport has weather restrictions. Ground transportation can be arranged through the FBO staff, and rental cars are available at the terminal. The facility is straightforward and functional rather than luxurious, reflecting the practical character of a western Colorado community airport.
