About Signature Flight Support EWR

Signature Flight Support at Newark Liberty International Airport occupies a state-of-the-art facility that opened in November 2013. The operation spans 510,000 square feet of ramp space, 39,000 square feet of hangar, and an 11,200-square-foot passenger terminal designed to meet LEED Gold Certification standards with energy-efficient lighting and environmental controls.

Signature has served Newark since 1962, and the current facility represents a major upgrade for what is one of the New York metropolitan area's most important private aviation gateways. The terminal provides a modern passenger lounge, crew amenities, conference space, and complimentary shuttle service to airport-area hotels and the commercial terminal for passengers connecting to airline flights.

Newark Liberty features three runways, with the longest at 11,000 feet, and offers full Category III ILS capability. As a major international hub, EWR has the infrastructure to handle any aircraft type, and its position in the New York airspace system means controllers are experienced with the complexity of operating private aviation alongside heavy commercial traffic.

For charter passengers, Newark offers distinct advantages over Teterboro, the region's dedicated general aviation airport. EWR accommodates larger aircraft that Teterboro's shorter runways cannot handle, and its location in northern New Jersey puts it within 15 miles of Manhattan via the Lincoln Tunnel or NJ Transit. Newark is also closer to central and southern New Jersey destinations, including Princeton, the Jersey Shore, and the pharmaceutical corridor along I-287.

Signature EWR provides professional, full-service ground handling at one of the busiest airports in the country. The modern facility, extensive ramp space, and six-decade presence at the airport give passengers confidence in both the physical infrastructure and the operational expertise.

Midtown Manhattan is roughly 15 miles from EWR, typically 30 to 45 minutes by car in normal traffic. The Lincoln Tunnel route via I-78 is the most direct. Traffic heading into Manhattan during weekday mornings or out on Friday afternoons can push that to 60 to 90 minutes. Most private passengers use pre-arranged car service; Signature Aviation can coordinate ground transportation directly from the FBO. Newark also has an AirTrain connecting to Newark Penn Station, where NJ Transit and Amtrak trains reach New York Penn Station in about 25 minutes. This is faster than driving during peak hours if you're headed to Midtown or downtown. Helicopter transfers to the Downtown Manhattan Heliport or West 30th Street Heliport are available for groups where time justifies the cost.
