About Delta County Airport FBO

Delta County Airport FBO is a county-run operation at KESC in Escanaba, serving Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The airport sits two nautical miles southwest of town and functions as both a general aviation facility and a commercial service airport, with SkyWest Airlines operating Delta Air Lines flights to Detroit and Minneapolis.

The FBO provides full-service Jet-A support for both commercial and general aviation alongside a self-service 100LL kiosk. Transient hangars are insulated and heated, which is essential in a region where winter temperatures regularly drop well below zero. Aircraft plug-ins are available for cold-weather starts, and GPU call-outs can be arranged for an additional fee. The terminal offers free Wi-Fi, a pilots' lounge, a weather briefing system, vending machines, and catering on request. A courtesy car is available, and National/Alamo rental cars can be reserved on site.

The airport has two runways, with the primary 10/28 measuring 6,498 feet, sufficient for most midsize and smaller business jets. Delta County Flight School also operates from the field.

Escanaba sits on the shores of Little Bay de Noc on Lake Michigan's northern shore, and the Upper Peninsula surrounding it is one of the most scenic and least populated regions in the eastern United States. The area attracts visitors for hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and the natural beauty of the UP's forests and waterways. Escanaba is also a service center for the region's timber, paper, and mining industries.

For charter passengers, Delta County Airport FBO provides the essential services needed to operate in a remote northern climate. The heated hangars and plug-in infrastructure reflect a facility that understands its environment and prepares accordingly.
