About Kearney Flight Services

Kearney Flight Services operates a modern FBO at Kearney Regional Airport in central Nebraska, serving a surprisingly diverse mix of aviation traffic on a facility that handles approximately 30,000 operations per year. The airport covers 2,500 acres, giving it substantial capacity for aircraft of various sizes.

The terminal was designed with visibility in mind, featuring a waiting area with clear sightlines to the ramp so passengers can watch their aircraft being serviced. Upstairs and downstairs pilot lounges, a snooze room, and a conference area provide spaces for crew rest and business meetings. Services include fueling, aircraft rental, flight instruction, catering, courtesy car, and transition training. Kearney Flight Services is also home to the University of Nebraska-Kearney Aviation Systems Management Program flight operations, which adds an academic aviation presence to the field.

Kearney sits at the crossroads of I-80 and Nebraska Highway 44, roughly at the geographic center of the state and the country. The city serves as a regional hub for agriculture, healthcare, and education. The Great Platte River Road Archway Monument spans I-80 near the airport, and the surrounding area is known internationally for the annual sandhill crane migration each spring, when roughly 500,000 cranes stage along the Platte River, drawing birdwatchers and nature photographers from around the world.

For charter passengers, Kearney Regional provides a well-maintained FBO in a part of Nebraska that is a full day's drive from the nearest major metropolitan airports. The facility serves as a practical fuel stop along the I-80 corridor and a genuine destination for those visiting the university, attending the crane migration, or conducting business across central Nebraska's agricultural economy.
