About County of Jefferson FBO

The County of Jefferson FBO operates from a brand-new 25,000-square-foot terminal that opened in November 2025, the centerpiece of a $32.5 million modernization project funded largely by New York's Upstate Airport Economic Development program. The upgraded facility features a spacious lobby, expanded passenger waiting areas, and a jet bridge, a significant step up from the previous terminal. Charter passengers arriving at Watertown will find the FBO staffed from 6 AM to 8 PM in summer and 6 AM to 5 PM in winter, with after-hours arrangements available by request. Fueling includes both 100LL and Jet A, and the ramp supports a range of general aviation aircraft with tie-down and hangar options subject to availability. A pilot lounge with free Wi-Fi and flight planning resources is on site. The airport serves as a designated international port of entry with U.S. Customs clearance available given two hours' advance notice. Watertown International is the closest airport to Fort Drum, the U.S. Army's 10th Mountain Division installation, and the Thousand Islands region along the St. Lawrence River. Ground services include baggage carts, de-icing with Type I and IV fluids, engine preheat, and ground power units. While the FBO is modest compared to big-city terminals, the new building provides a comfortable and functional arrival experience for passengers headed to northern New York's military, recreational, and business destinations. Phase two of the airport project will add a restaurant in the old terminal building.
