About Signature Flight Support
Signature Flight Support operates the FBO at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport, providing all ground handling services and fuel sales for general aviation and military traffic. The facility has been in operation at Amarillo since 1993 and has become a frequent stop for both military and private aircraft making mid-continent fuel stops. Amarillo International features the seventh-longest civilian runway in the United States at 13,502 feet, which can accommodate any aircraft type without restriction, including the largest military transports and business jets at maximum weight. The flat terrain and generally good weather in the Texas Panhandle contribute to reliable operations year-round. The Signature team provides standard FBO services including fueling, ground handling, and passenger amenities. An important operational note: after-hours service requires advance notice by 4:30 PM on the prior business day, so late-arriving flights should coordinate scheduling in advance. Signature also provides into-plane fueling for commercial airlines at the airport and leases hangar space to various aviation tenants. The airport is located at 10610 American Drive on the southeast side of Amarillo, with Interstate 40 providing east-west highway access and US Route 287 connecting north-south. For charter passengers, Amarillo serves as either a destination for the Texas Panhandle region or a convenient mid-continent fuel stop on longer cross-country flights. The city's economy is driven by agriculture, energy, and the Pantex nuclear weapons facility. Palo Duro Canyon State Park, the second-largest canyon in the United States, is about 25 miles south of the airport. The Signature facility provides reliable, professional handling at an airport where the runway length and geographic position make it a natural refueling waypoint.
