About World Fuels Station
The World Fuels station at Timmins Victor M. Power Airport provides FBO services at one of the largest airports in northern Ontario. The airport, owned and operated by the City of Timmins, has two runways (6,000 feet and 4,900 feet), precision landing aids, and a 24-hour weather reporting operation, making it well-equipped for year-round operations in northern Ontario's challenging climate. The FBO provides aviation fuel and aircraft servicing for visiting aircraft. A flight service station supports flight planning and weather briefing needs. For charter passengers, Timmins serves as a gateway to the mining communities and wilderness areas of northeastern Ontario. The city has a population of roughly 42,000 and is a center for gold mining, forestry, and outdoor recreation. The airport is located 6 nautical miles north-northwest of the city. Timmins is also a practical fuel stop for aircraft transiting between southern Ontario cities like Toronto (about 700 kilometers south) and northern communities. The terminal facilities are basic and functional, reflecting the airport's role as a workhorse northern hub rather than an executive aviation destination. Ground transport including rental cars and taxi service is available in town. The airport handles medevac flights, mining charter operations, and commercial service, alongside general aviation traffic. Passengers should expect efficient, utilitarian service rather than premium lounge amenities. The dual-runway configuration provides operational flexibility during crosswind conditions, which are common in this region.
